    Provodnikovs Power Overrated?

Ruslan packs good power but his record isnt as impressive as some seem to think it is. I mean, there's another thread here with people saying that Provo is more explosive, and that Matthysse has to outbox him to win. I'm not saying its a bad idea to use superior boxing skills, but I'm not seeing where Provodnikov is supposed to have more KO power than Matthysse.
Provodnikov has 17 KOs in 27 fights. 5 KO in his last 10 fights.
Matthysse has 34 Kos in his 40 fihgts. 8 KO in his last 10 fights.
I know, its just numbers, but lets take DeMarcus Corley for example. He fought both Matthysse and Provodnikov in 2011.
On January 2011, Matthysse put a terrible beating on DeMarcus with 7 KD before the fight was stopped in the 8th round. December of that same year, Provodnikov fights Corley an goes life and death for 12 rounds to hardly win a UD.
If you're affraid of the power of Demarcus Corley, a guy that Matthyyse chewed on like a rubber toy, then how exactly is it that Matthysse should be on his back foot and avoid brawling with Provodnikov?

Don't put yourself through the same embarrassment like the garcia fight. Just shut up and enjoy a good fight

Lucas showed chin issues against Molina but Provo is so face first you KNOW Lucas will land something big. I'm starting to slightly favour Lucas.

Provodnikov, though limited has excellent power, solid beard and he gives you minimal breathing space in the ring. It's gonna be a good fight but I lean towards ruslan mid round stoppage. I don't think Matty can withstand the power.

No, the guy is a beast with huge power. He's just one dimensional with no defense and a questionable stamina.

Provo definitely has power. He just isn't very good at pacing himself (or lacks stamina) among other things.. He needs to work on controlling his adrenaline, managing his energy/gas tank, maintaining composure/keeping calm because he often gets too excited and blows his load way too quickly , leaving himself gassed and exposed like a walking punching bag.

This is exactly how I view him. He has very good power but doesn't have the pacing and/or proper conditioning to put it to good use. He could have had early stoppages over Bradley and Algieri but he his blew his load way to early instead of patiently finishing them off like a pro. Instead they survived and outboxed him to two decision losses.

He has good power, it's not overrated I don't think - but he often has issues getting punches off when he needs to.

nah I'd say the dude's power is definitely very good. you can't do that to Tim bradley unless you got some substantial power. it's just that he's a very limited fighter. 1 dimensional. his delivery system and accuracy hurts him.
