If Pacquaio wasn't with Top Rank, he would likely be accepting a 70/30 or worse purse split right now just to get the fight made. The fact that he isn't with Al Haymon and has his own brand with Top Rank is the reason he is getting fairly treated. Even Cotto was working with Top Rank to negotiate for the Canelo fight. Top Rank is the top promotional company in boxing and has been for decades. Golden Boy was on top for a few years until haymon/shafer screwed him royally. The bigger question is why did Floyd jump ship over to Showtime which seems to be the real roadblock in these negotiations.

I was just watching Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor 1 last night, the best against the best in the 140-lb division. At that time, Chavez had 66 wins, no loss, Floyd has a long way to go to match that, unless he's talking about USA records only. And I don't remember exact number, but a really long streak as well of defending a title (Mike Tyson almost reached it).
Very tragic for Taylor, damaged kidney and many fractures ...
Anyway, their fight was meant to be, and I hope Chavez' prediction that the Floyd vs Pacman fight will happen. It could end up like Chavez vs Taylor, the difference is that the slugger will be throwing the volume punches and the boxer the less punches.Comment

I think Chavez destroys Floyd. After all, his sparring partner showed the blueprint and beat Floyd unofficially, and Chavez probably gave some hints to his sparring partner (who fights in a similar style to Chavez).
Pacquiao vs Chavez ? I don't know about this, both are tough, I'll give it 50-50. Chavez did mention he was bothered by the volume punching of Meldrick Taylor, and almost lost if not for that last round knockdown. Like Taylor, Pacman on the other hand also urinated blood against Morales in their first fight, but he was a much-improved beast later on.Comment
