      U.S. is a big place. many more active boxers of higher caliber then other countrys .
      there is a reason britts and others come over here to get better sparring partners.

          Yes, I agree. I believe that's because many "bums" from Mexico turn pro at 15 and used the sport as their main source of income. In other words, they had little to no clues about the fundamentals of the sport and essentially learned them on the fly. In doing so they pick up countless losses against other young but more refined and properly trained men in the sport. Eventually these rugged men learn the ins and outs and and adopt their own styles. They are Boxing's late boomers whom can eventually reach champion status and tend to derail young prospects throughout their career.

          Robinson Castellanos, Orlando Salido, "El Pingo" Miranda, Sonny Boy Jaro(of the Philippines) are a few examples of these overachieving "bums".
