Really don't understand the hate for Deontay around here. The guy is a late starter in the sport, and he just fought his first top 10 heavyweight. So what he has a belt. He's basically a prospect the just established himself as a contender. It would be foolish to throw him right in with Wlad. Hell', go check Wlad's resume the first 30+ fights of his career.

You also have to remember that Wlad fought the first thirty fights of his career within a few months shy of the first three years.

Wilder is all smoke and mirrors.

Guys who were calling Stiverne a bum are now hailing Wilder as a colossus because he beat Stiverne -- a Stiverne who was far from the guy we saw fight Arreola twice.

I think Wilder's first defence will be against Charlie Zelenoff, the 160 pound UBF champ who his massive punches failed to knock out even though he hit CZ far harder than he did his "good buddy" Malik Scott.

CZ may take out Wilder next time.

As a fighter he does not make the fights, That's his management team. Hate on All Haymon if you want, But leave Deontay alone. His job is to beat whoever they put in front of him. And he's doing a pretty good job of it so far.

He started boxing very late, At the age of 21. He did it to so he could make money to provide for his daughter "Naiea" who was born with Spina bifida.
She was his motivation to train hard and become Heavyweight champion.

Deontay was not 100% in the Stiverne fight either. He badly hurt his eye the day before the fight when a training band snapped back and hit him in the face.
During the fight he also broke his hand leaving him unable to put much of his power into his dominant right hand.

But despite have blurred vision one hand, he still fought through it for 12 rounds and won the fight.

I like wilder but I think some don't because he got that title shot without really beating any legit top 10 guys

Wilder is legit, but Wlad would wax him, and I doubt wilder would be allowed to fight him anytime soon..
