MAZATLÁN, México.- Two weeks have passed since his last fight, and Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (31-0, 24 KOs) is ready to return to the gym and get back on track for his goal of winning a world championship.
Ramirez does not like to stay away from the gym for long periods of time and was ordered by his trainer Jesus Zapari to take two weeks off. During the two weeks, all Ramirez has been thinking about is boxing and watching videos of fights.
"On Monday I will report back to the gym to start moving forward. We still have no date, but I want to be ready for the time when my manager and [Top Rank] schedules one for us. So that way we don't start our preparation from scratch," Ramirez said.
