Which historical MW champs move up and beat Ward?

Since Sanchez shot his mouth off again and said GGG would stop Ward, and I think many of us doubt this seriously, what other MWs would have been good enough to accomplish a KO (or at least a victory) over Ward?

    Hagler?
    Toney?
    Robinson?
    Hearns?
    Anybody?

Toney could outhustle on the inside and would be stronger. Hearns could poss outwork him from the outside.

    Good question though.

I think prime Hopkins beats him.

Just a little better at everything.

GGG drops his hands after every punch.
Abel should be teaching basic defense instead of cashing checks GGG's as.s can't cash.

Stevens backed him across the ring and Golovkin had his hands on his balls the whole time.

Chin just dangling in the breeze.

K2 will have a hard time keeping that hype-train out the ditch.

Go to youtube and watch Golovkin Vs Adama

A slow fighter like Adama exposed serious holes in his game.

Don't need to go way back in time. SMW version of Jones as well as Hopkins. Ward is a budget version of Hopkins. The original is always better. Regarding RJJ - prime version beats any SMW in history. Too quick and too powerful. It was his most effective weight.

Roy Jones, may not rank as high as the guys you mentioned at MW but i still think he could move up from 160 and beat him.

Hagler most definitely, he's be strong and he would be the puncher in there. I can't see Ward clinching his way out of this one. Toney most likely but keeping this realistic, Toney had weight and commitment issues so if he doesn't come in focused, Ward would outpoint.

Robinson most definitely, it's not even a debate.

Possibly the Leonard that fought Hagler, he still had speed and movement and wasn't yet too past it.

Hearns, I don't see it, he was too inconsistent above 154 and Ward would probably beat him on points.

Not everything. Ward is physically stronger on the inside, more athletic and faster. I see this as a 50/50 fight.
