Comments Thread For: Paul Smith, Trainer Confident of Arthur Abraham KO Win

Paul Smith (35-4, 20 KOs), and his trainer Joe Gallagher, are confident of being able to score a knockout victory over WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (41-4, 28 KOs) on February 21st at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany. Last September, Smith lost a twelve round unanimous decision to Abraham, with scores of 117-111, 119-109 and 117-111.

Most experts did score the fight in favor of Abraham but saw the contest as being much, much closer than the actual scorecards. The one scorecard that gave Abraham eleven rounds of the contest was universally criticized.

if he beleived he had the power why was he throwing silly left hooks and not straight right hands, abraham pressures him on the ropes and he throws a silly left hook which looks like it would not even move abrahams head. smith is shot he looks weak and he's going to lose, abraham was geting of lead left hooks which proves smith cant keep the range and when abraham goes to the body all smith does is put his guard up he doesnt even move back.

I don't think Smith has the power to KO Abraham to be honest.

He may be able to outbox him on his best day but not in Germany.

Abraham is a rugged, wily old pro - but I think he is terrible to watch...

Really don't see Smith stopping him. He can outbox him, but he'll need to do a thorough job in Germany.

It's a testament to how sh^t Paul Smith is that an immediate rematch was so easy to negotiate. Kalle 'White Lines' Sauerland has found himself a little feeding system for Abraham's bum of the month club through Matchroom.

I thought Paul Smith edged the first fight, but there's no way he stops Abe. I expect Abraham to win more clearly the second time around.

Yea it was hard to split them in the first fight and was a great effort from Smith, Abraham is in my opinion a little jaded these days but to put Smith in looking for the knock could spell catastrophe , I hope this is tactical mind games for there is only one winner in a dog fight and it aint our man !

Abraham boxed within in himself. After 20 world title fights it's understandable why he wouldn't at his peak motivation boxing paul smith but Arthur can raise his game. Look at the Steglitz fights for proof. Can smith raise his game ? I don't see why he'd be any better

Abraham wins this more convincingly. Often the case with rematches
