Comments Thread For: Mike Perez Crushes Darnell Wilson in Two Rounds

Cuban Heavyweight Mike Perez (21-1-1, 13KOs) bounced back from his first career defeat with a two round destruction of veteran Darnell Wilson (25-19-3, 21KOs) at the The Hangar in Costa Mesa in California. Perez has been out of the ring since the twelve round split decision loss to Bryant Jennings last July in New York's Madison Square Garden. It was Perez's first win since 2013. In 2014 he battled to a draw with Carlos Takam.

Wilson, 40-years-old, has seen much better days with only three wins and a long line of defeats since 2008.

Mike says he was badly affected by what happened in the Magomed fight. He felt terrible that Magomed suffered brain damage and is now in a wheelchair

Mike is training with Robert Garica at his gym in Oxnard California.

His only loss was his last fight, a split decision to Bryant Jennings. It could have been him fighting Klitschko next.

This win tonight will be a good confidence builder for Mike. I'm sure his next fight will be against a top 10 HW.

Recorded by someone in the Perez camp from ringside on an iphone. Pretty good quality. You see everything including post fight talk in the dressing room after

                  Worth a watch.

Perez said he hopes to fight Povetkin but wants to fight again before that.
