    Kessler/Ward v Hopkins?

With talk of Kessler potentially getting a Ward rematch, it would be interesting to see what happens if/when that fight falls through. Kessler will probably remain retired, but Ward still needs an opponent. Could Hopkins fit the bill as a big name for Ward to come back on, or Kessler to finish on?

Bernard did say that he would come back for 1 more fight v a current champion or someone of that kind of stature. Both these guys fit the bill.

If there was a possibility of either of those fights happening - would you watch? and who would you pick to win?

In any case, either of these two would probably be a better fight for Hopkins than if he seriously entertained any thoughts of fighting GGG...

Yes, he would probably pick a weaker champ like Abraham for a final bout, but if Hopkins truly wants to take the test, a fight v Kessler or Ward could be interesting. If it's Ward, then we have a barometer to compare the performances of Kovalev and Ward, which could happen down the line.

For Kessler, it's a big name and a low risk fight, and I think Bernard would be easier to secure as an opponent than Ward with all his promotional problems and other demands, and dislike for travelling.

    Thoughts?

Hopkins wasn't too keen on fighting Ward last year. I doubt anything has changed. If Hopkins is going to fight one more time, it's going to be against someone he has a chance of beating. It would be an ugly fight too.
