BoxingScene.com has confirmed that a deal has been reached for a fight between WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee (34-2, 24KOs) and the man who vacated the crown, Peter Quillin (31-0, 22KOs).

Promoter Lou DiBella had to overcome a major obstacle to get the deal done - a mandatory defense owed to Billy Joe Saunders. DiBella was able to work out a step-aside agreement with Saunders and his promoter Frank Warren. Saunders will be in line to face the Lee-Quillin winner.

This is a decent fight, but Quillin is such an idiot. He got suckered into vacating his belt and going a year without fighting just to come back and fight or the same damn belt for half the pay.

If Lee actually beats him, I'll be so happy.

Peter Quillin, the undercard king, is back again with another exciting undercard fight. I hope Haymon is paying Quillin at least $1.4 million for this fight because I believe that Andy Lee will knock him out. After that, Quillin will never see another $500,000 payday as he will be relegated to undercard fights on Friday Night Fights.
