that's pretty much what i was thinking. how would jt deal with a wild swinging power puncher like peter. sure toney would have the technical edge, but if he was caught with a flush punch square on the chin, or a looping rabbit punch for that matter.....

i could see toney flying across the ring like a sheet of paper in a hurricane. of course, sam would have to catch him first.

Easy. Sam Peter would not be able to land anything significant, and he would probably run out of gas trying to hit him. He would fall right into Toney's trap. Huge style mismatch

How are you sure that Peter would land less punches against Toney than he did against Wladimir? Wladimir is a tall mover whereas Toney is a stationary cutie. I think Peter, unafraid of being countered by a weak puncher, would overwhelm him with heavy punches (some behind the neck) until he had him hurt. Wlad outboxed Peter because he was tall, rangy, and hits hard. Toney isn't much quicker on his feet than Peter.

he should fight Byrdy, although Chris probably won't have the strap anymore, by then

I agree with this completly. Toney gets hit alot to the body. You can't shoulder roll that ****. With medium power punchers like Ruiz and Rockman it's not a problem.

But Peter could put Toney down with body punching, no matter how much fat cover it. Once that slows him down, he mauls him a few time in the back and back of head or wherever and Toney goes down.

Not knocked out but kind of pushed over.

I wanna see Toney vs Valuev! 7'2 monster w/ barely any skills and not so great power vs a 5'9 quick and slick counter puncher. This fight would be very interesting and i think it would attract a lot of fans. Id watch it i'll tell u that much.

Toney doesn't deserve another shot at the title. He couldn't beat Rahman, who is IMO the weakest of the HW division. He should fight a number 1 type of contender such as Peter (even though he's probably not a number 1) so we can all watch him get KO'd and do McDonald's commecials for the rest of his life.
