Eddie Hearn working on Omar Fig vs Ricky Burns

Because it makes you write stuff to even read it:

RICKY BURNS is heading for Las Vegas and a ring jackpot against WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is believed to be close to delivering a big-bucks deal for the 31-year-old former WBO lightweight champ from Coatbridge.

Hearn has been in talks with Figueroa’s promoter, ring legend Oscar de la Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions, for the fight to take place on April 18 in America’s ******** capital.

The London fight boss is also understood to have been talking to Cuban IBF super-featherweight champion Rances Barthelemy’s handlers.

But Figueroa, undefeated in 25 contests, tops Burns’s wanted list after the 25-year-old Mexican-American was installed as champion when Adrien Broner was stripped of the title.

Hearn confirmed various negotiations have been taking place but said: “Nothing has been finalised although I would hope to be in a position to make a major announcement soon.”

Burns’s last fight was a victory in October against Frenchman Alexandre Lepelley. He lost his crown to American Terence Crawford last March.

Booooo figueroa should be fighting someone better than this midget by now. Tired of these young guys being brought up like babies, that's why most of them turn out soft.

My bad I was thinking of Gavin Rees. Crappy UK fighters all blend together to me.

lol so has the dumbass racist wbc decided to keep Linares as their official champ lol.
wasn't Figueroa champion in recess? Makes sence, dont want Figueroa shattering Linares' glass all over the place. If he gets koed, they can always get more, right? After all, Linares is commonly found in your local home depot as his title is made of paper, and his chin is made of glass.

I thought Figueroa is moving up?

Linares in the WBC lightweight champion now. Burns fought at 140 in his last fight but said hes moving down again.

Burns is at 140 now... don't think he can make 135 anymore... lost to the Montenegrian at 140 I think
