I'm not singling you out bc many people say this about many fights but why would you love that? I assume everyone (or at least the vast majority) that keep up with discussion on these forums has HBO and Showtime since that is where all boxing takes place right now; and if you do, why wouldn't you want it to be on there? There is likely better production value and most importantly there are no commercials. The only reason I like network fights is bc I believe it will lead to better matchups, but in this case the matchup is already made, why would nbc be a better outlet?

Most prolly do have HBO and Showtime, however like most I absolutely hate paying 10 bucks a month for each channel series when all I do is watch boxing once a weekend or every other, weekend.

I doubt NBC would be willing to put up the money especially Al no longer advises Matthysse.

But I do wish more fights like this were on TV, more heads to watch, hopefully build a bigger fan base. I mean we know who these two are, but there are plenty of casuals who have no idea who Provo or Lucas is. A fight of this caliber on Cable is a FOY candidate. Guarantee if a casual watches they would want to finish the fight and hopefully want to watch them again.

Because this is the type of fight that will bring in the casual fans. im not thinking about me, Im thinking about the sport.

Showtime needs this one badly. If you want better fights on HBO, you should be hoping Showtime is at least competitive.
