The union between Gary Shaw and Roc Nation Sports certainly didn't last long. After coming with much fan-fare - with all his boxers in tow - Shaw confirmed to Boxingscene.com that he was splitting from the fledgling boxing operation and going back to his old business, Gary Shaw Productions.

i dont believe that Roc Nation will add value to boxing. they're maneuvers are very drastic and unorthodox....the business side of boxing is a very delicate thing and - and running the whole celebrity-crowd market technique is weak for anyone not mainstream......all seems very shallow and not good for the sport.

Roc's revolutionary strategy to fix boxing seemed to be throwing a bunch of lump sums of cash at existing stars then giving up when they said no.

This is already a very oversaturated market, more in need of old companies to die than new ones to spring up.
