Comments Thread For: Marquez's Promoter Eyes Bout in Mexico Before Brook

Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, who works closely with former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), would like to see his fighter headline a big event in Mexico before they even explore the possibility of a fight with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs).

Marquez, 41-years-old, has been out of the ring since a May 2014 twelve round decision victory over Mike Alvarado at The Forum in Inglewood, California. He was supposed to return in December but knee injury prevented that from happening. Marquez has been taking his time with properly rehabbing the injury.

        Relevancy

I personally believe Juan Manuel Marquez has very little "real" interest in facing Brook and he and his Team are using Brook's name for relevancies sake.

It's time to call It a day Marquez. Age and Injuries are now your enemy. I don't look for him to perform well from this point forward If he continues to fight.
