And since when does having LOSSES against mayweather and Pacquiao actually boost your credibility? Next people are going to say that cotto is the A side, because he had the loss against Austin trout on his record.

This. Right now Cotto is just a catch weight paper chump.

Cotto and Marquez are two names I'm real sick about hearing. The news is only about who they are NOT fighting. Here's an idea. How about they both dont fight each other and both dont get anymore press. Piss off already, hotos.

As a Cotto fan, I'm pretty damn upset the Canelo fight didn't get made. I was so goddamn psyched for it, ugh. The next conceivable time it could be made is May of next year, and who knows what's going to happen until then.

It's also hard for me to get very excited about a fight with Bradley, especially at MW! In fact, it's hard for me to get excited about anyone else except GGG or perhaps even Mayweather.

Canelo aint fighting on May 2nd if Mayweather fights.

Its a JOINT PPV with HBO AND Showtime. HBO isnt going to cannibalize their own sales. May 9th it will be. If it was a Showtime only PPV then that would be different.

You should be happy, Canelo would have beat his ass.

Cotto vs Canelo would be a big fight, real entertaining too. But Cotto would most likely get stopped in that fight. Cotto seems to fade late in fights. Working with Roach would up his punching volume, he would need a lot of conditioning work.

Odd that you bring up Bradley. Not only is no one asking for that fight, but that's not even really conceivable. Cotto wouldn't cut a pound for Bradley. He hasn't fought Welter since he fought Pac.

Other than a possible rematch with Floyd (which he would most likely lose, fighters don't do well in rematches with Floyd) idk what else he does at this point. He loses against Floyd, Canelo, and GGG. Anyone else I give him a good shot at beating.

I don't even think that would work out well. Most people aren't willing to dish out that much money 2 weekends in a row for fights. May 9th sales wouldn't do very well. They should put some more space between the dates.

Cotto might have "options" but if he wants to keep the WBC part of his MW belt his only option is to fight Golovkin.

Cotto is just weighing which beat down is worth the money. He doesn't really want Canelo because getting kod by a Mexican again would really hurt his standing in Puerto Rico. But taking a fight against GGG is suicide.

                    He's gonna fight Floyd again.

                      Well put.

But here's something to consider. Why are we getting all these articles that only get on our nerves? "We will meet with Fighter X next week and discuss options" "Fighter X is on holiday and next week he is coming back so we will sit together" "Nothing is decided and everything is a possibility, says Fighter X's advisor", "Fighter Y thinks Fighter X will not fights Fighter Z" and so on?

Cotto has the right to fight whoever he wants and whenever he wants. I have a right to only read about Cotto when he is doing something newsworthy.

Ward was all over the news when he was in a legal dispute and couldn't fight. He had his contract bought out by RocNation, is free to fight and now off the news. How does this work?
