all i can say to Cotto is stay away from GGG. just pick a soft ass opponent collect your check and retire. you never really wanted the Canelo fight.

After the Margarito beating, Cotto will not face any Mexican, heck he ducked Rubio too. He is a coward, was scared of Canelo.

Sigh...wish he wouldn't have tried to squeeze every last penny he could out of Alvarez and reached an agreement. Not like he wouldn't have made bank. That being said, dude needs to get the ball rolling and find some viable options.

remember you have the leverage against anybody not named pacquiao mayweather.

            this is the truth.
In other words, Cotto you are a coward who was knocked out by a midget named Paquiao and you were afraid of Canelo.

Golovkin needs a better resume? How about the fact that he's cottos MANDATORY CHALLENGER with 3 belts. Either cotto fights him,or he has to vacate the belt. And he's pretty screwed on the financial front, because GGG will fight him for nickles and pennies,so cotto won't be able to use the "he wanted to much money" excuse. And since when does having LOSSES against mayweather and Pacquiao actually boost your credibility? Next people are going to say that cotto is the A side, because he had the loss against Austin trout on his record.

That's a god damn lie and you know it. Cotto NEVER walked away. Canelo got butthurt Cotto was a plan B for Floyd and wouldn't wait. That's on Canelo. Cotto never ducked nobody.

I love Cotto. Hell of a fighter. But let's face it his best days are well behind him. I don't count the 2 KO's against the fringe contender Delvin (obviously a major mismatch) and Sergio (obviously damaged and hurt pre fight). So he hasn't had a major noteworthy win since the revenge fight vs Margarito. That fight he looked real impressive. that was at the end of 2011.

But he does have a belt so he can have no names in the division come to him and make some decent cash and avoid the real champs as long as possible. If he fights either Canelo or GGG he gets retired. Especially now under roach. Roach will make him take more risks, be more offensive, it'll be great for action that's for sure. But at the same time that leaves him open to take shots and idk how much more he can take, especially against a real full, true, and prime middleweight.

It is pretty simple. Cotto is about the money fights. Yes, Canelo would have been a good money fight but Mayweather would have been a much bigger money fight. I think Cotto didn't want to be rushed into the Canelo fight, because he thinks that if the Pac and Floyd fight falls apart, that Floyd wouldn't have much of a choice but to fight him.

Personally I think Cotto made a big mistake. I could be wrong(I'm hoping that I'm not), but I don't think Cotto is going to get the Floyd fight and he just blew his chances with Canelo. Now he is going to be stuck fighting someone like Bradley for a lot less money.

Another way to put it is that Canelo had agreed to all of Cotto's terms long ago and got tired of waiting for Cotto to sign.

Cotto forgot he wasn't dealing with an old, shot fighter who couldn't wait to cash out against him. With Martinez, he could afford to be heavy-handed in negotiations, but Canelo is a different animal.

So technically it was Canelo who walked away from the table, but the fight not happening is on Cotto.
