Triple world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, was honored when boxing legend Roberto "Manos de Piedra" Duran presented him with the award recognizing him as the 2014 Best Professional Athlete of the Year. The honor was unanimously voted on by the Sports Writers Association of Nicaragua at the Holiday Inn hotel. Duran was the guest of honor at the yearly gala.

"It's a blessing in my life, everything that happened this year, which was successful. This recognition gives me the courage and strength to continue training more in the gym. I have the support of my family, of my people and motivates me to do better," Gonzalez said.

He feels safe in Duran's strong arms, but he can't run from Raymi forever.

There's a lot of truth to that statement, after that car wreck he definitely grew old. But before the wreck he was still pretty competitive with younger fighters with the exception of the joppy fight. The greatest latin fighter of all time though. The great Roberto Duran aka "Hands Of Stone"!

Of course, but it was the automobile wreck that made him old and ended his boxing career. By the way, with no car wreck and no pro boxing career in today's world being 63 and even older can still look amazingly young. So young people haven't a clue of the sexagenarian's age.
