Comments Thread For: J. Mayweather Sides With Guerrero To Defeat Thurman

Trainer Jeff Mayweather is siding with multi-division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (32-2-1, 18KOs) to defeat WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith "One time" Thurman (24-0, 21KOs). On March 7th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Thurman and Guerrero will collide in an NBC televised fight as part of Al Haymon's new 'Premier Boxing Champions' series.

Jeff is not impressed with Thurman's level of competition in the last few years. Thurman's team members have tried to get him fights with several of the tops names and they were unsuccessful. One of the fighters they tried to get was Guerrero, who in the past was not interested in the contest.

It seems like all Jeff does is troll...maybe I'm just not seeing it because I got Thurman winning, rather easily.

Nah man, If he lets Guerrero get into a groove, The Ghost will eat him alive on the inside. Thurman needs space to operate and the first thing that Guerrero will look to do is take that away. One Time better be worried about this fight because the Ghost's game is the kryptonite to Thurman's game.

Should be a pretty good fight. As much as I would love to see Thurman lose, I think he's just too big for The Ghost I'm betting Guerrero gets stopped late 10-11

IMO this fight comes down to which fighter can impose his will n the other. Which one can get the other to fight their fight. Guerrero is the far better inside fighter and One Time is better throwing heat fro a distance. So it really comes down to who can take control. The one that does wins.

Guerrero 126-135 was a boxer/puncher very similar, actually, to Chaves, the Argentine who has truobled Thurman the most.

But at 147 he's turned into more of an inside boxer.

If he can find a balance between these two styles, and transition durng rounds, I thnk he can beat Thurman.

Why Does Jeff Mayweather Have So Much To Say? He's A Nobody On Floyd's Payroll

                  Jeffry is a clown.
