Comments Thread For: Keith Thurman: I'll Be Ready For Guerrero's Rough Tactics

WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith "One time" Thurman (24-0, 21KOs) is preparing for a rough, inside war with former multi-division champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (32-2-1, 18KOs). On March 7th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Thurman and Guerrero will collide in an NBC televised fight as part of Al Haymon's new 'Premier Boxing Champions' series.

Thurman has been studying Guerrero's fights and not just his biggest wins at 147, like the twelve round war with Andre Berto from a few years ago. Thurman expects a lot of activity and punches being thrown.

I hope Thurman delivers an exciting performance to silence his critics.
I have no doubt he beats Guerrero.

Fuck those people who are already salty when someone with a near 90% KO percentage delivers a shotout UD victory. It's ridiculous.

there is really no reason thurman shouldnt win this fight..robert is someone shot or just plain overrated..just b/c floyd took u as a post jail tune up really doesnt mean much to me..Salido disposed of the guy at 135 right? there is no way a true prime WW should have trouble with him..unless robert just comes in better than i ever saw..to me this a 75/25 fight for thurman..only give robert a punchers chance with his brawling tactics..but he does not have one punch ko power and i think thurman is big enough to clinch if he gets hurt, but is he aware enough?? thats where roberts 25 kicks in

This should be a good fight, the welterweight version of Guerrero is pretty much a phone booth fighter trying to make it an inside war. I see Thurman using movement to come in and out and circling Guerrero while picking his shots. This might upset some of the "fans" who want a senseless war but why should Thurman go into unfamiliar territory and fall into his opponents gameplan? With that said, I think Thurman was disappointed by the fan's reaction from his previous fight and will take some more risks than he did against Bundu.

Yes, that is completely ridiculous. No one wins every single fight by KO especially once they start fighting world class opponents.
