Comments Thread For: Hearn Will Push For Jorge Linares-Kevin Mitchell Clash

Kevin Mitchell is in line for a world title shot after out-classing Daniel Estrada. The East Londoner dominated from start to finish and stopped the experienced Mexican after eight one-sided rounds.

Mitchell put Estrada down in the third and produced a top-class display that should earn him a shot at WBC champion Jorge Linares. More importantly, he produced arguably the best performance of a career that has already taken him to the very top, only to fail when he got there.

Mitchell looked good last night but Linares is a different class.

I'm a Mitchell fan, yesterday was one of his quality displays.

He's capable of that, but he's also capable of just not showing up on the night. If he get's everything right, he has a chance to upset Linares.

Is Linares really LEVELS above Mitchell?

        Kind of similar careers really.

When they both lose they get wrecked.

I am a Mitchell fan and his losses were avoidable. He was a better fighter than both guys he got stopped by - even in the Katsidis fight there were climpses of how that fight should have gone. So the criticism of him has to be between the ears.

He looked great against Prescott and this guy and composed in his fight previous to last nights.

He is a good fighter. Always has been.

Linares hasn't really been wrecked. He's Amir Khan'd himself most of the time.

Mitchell got dominated and knocked out by Ricky Burns.

Skill wise, Linares is just superior by a long way. It's his to lose. Mitchell has a punchers chance.

Linares is fragile but is definitely more skilled than Mitchell. I'd favour Linares but Mitchell has got a good shot.

Mitchell is the third person I now link to Linares after Gamboa and Ivan Redkach.

No fight has been confirm yet so might be any of the three..

Linares has the option of a voluntary defence so Mitchell might have to wait a while to get his shot.

Look how tentative and cautious Maduma's speed had Mitchell through the vast majority of their speed. It'll be even worse against Linares, who possesses even more speed and an even more varied attack.
