    Mikkel Kessler set to retire

According to Danish media on Sunday, Kessler now considers himself a retired boxer. Kessler no longer has the motivation to get in the ring, even if he could still make good earnings boxing. Kessler explains to Danish newspaper ekstrabladet that only another swowdown with Andre Ward or Carl Froch will make him reconsider a comeback, but that as of now, he considers himself a retired athlete.

Damn I wanted to see him fight Groves or Degale before retiring.

It's a little strange, with his new TDC deal which was big and supposed to end up with him fighting. I can understand it though. 4-5 time world champion, mid 30s.

If Froch or Ward come knocking, (Froch is fighting in the summer btw - probably not against Chavez jr) it gets him the opportunity to avenge a defeat or settle a score.

Man he had a good fight left in him. Good time to retire though, he gave us memorable fights and his fights with Froch were great.
