Just like he did better against Floyd because Canelo tried to box and he can't chase fighters like Lara which is why he needed a gift. Canelo needs fighters who come to him. He's a boxer puncher who's more of a boxer. Cotto is boxer puncher who's more of a swarmed but more intelligent. Cotto could make Lara fight a war win or lose so I really wouldn't mind this fight

Lol Cotto is a much better pressure fighter then Canelo. Canelo has more power and speed but Cotto is alot better at cutting off the ring and hunting down runners. Cotto will do much better then Canelo that's for sure.

It looks this way Mayweather vs Pacquiao is finally going to happen, now what for Cotto? At first, I thought of Daniel Geale as an opponent, but I don't think it will sell, so now I prefer Erislandy Lara vs Miguel Cotto, which makes more sense.

Lara makes for a **** fight, and that hasn't changed at all; just look back to the Ishe Smith fight. To that, you can also add that Lara is unlikely to take short money for the shot.

A guy like Jorge Heiland, positioned pretty well within the governing bodies but not really a world-level contender, would make a lot more sense.
