How important is heart in boxing?

"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." Ortiz is an example of a fighter who's fallen from the top because of his lack of heart. On the other hand this guy has loads of it: http://********/QY1jzjTjIhY (amazing result and not for the faint hearted)

Imagine Victor Ortiz' skill with the heart of Brandon Rios.

Are you implying some fighters don't have heart? I think it takes heart just to get in the ring. Just look at this boxing forum, plenty of tough guy experts that won't get in the ring with anyone.

I agree to an extent. But don't forget that fighters are human beings with emotion. I'm sure there's a breaking point for certain fighters especially at the highest level

Ortiz must have been on drugs throughout his career or something, dude was always hot and cold.

If he had always shown the heart he did against Berto in every fight he would be a lot more respected in boxing community.
