if this fight is signed as being reported there is no question there will be a promo aired during the superbowl. nothing less than both fighters being in Arizona for the game itself. do you honestly believe they are going to sleep the biggest opportunity, on the biggest platform of the year, to promote the biggest fight in boxing history?!

Nobody said I believed anything. The fact is that both fighters are demanding so much money the fists are tight, they dont even want to do a multi city tour so it remains to be seen if there would be a commercial. Also you do realize that they have less then 2 days to put a commercial together.

that's why I believe they were trying to get this thing done today. Arum was saying in a couple of days. koncz was saying the deadline has been removed in anticipation of a longer process. yes I realize they have 2 days (really just 1) to put something together but I guarantee we will see something..something!

Better then a commercial would be for them to come out at half time Face off, that would be sick.

            Absolutely

In fact that's probably the best thing to do given theres not much time left. If not halftime sometime during the game have both Mayweather and Pacquiao join the commentators and promote the fight.

Super Bowl air time is sold months in advance and is finalized many times before the NFL season even starts so there will be no commercial. Ads have to be finished and approved by the network in the beginning if January as well.
Plus keep in mind that the SB is on NBC this year and they won't let an add promoting an event on a rival network happen on their biggest show of the year. So forget about Manny and Pac getting any NBC airtime in Arizona on NBC.
Also keep in mind they can reach just as many people if not more with a Twitter announcement which is free.

I don't like the idea of a Twitter announcement. Too ordinary. It wouldn't do an event of this magnitude justice. It also wouldn't reach a mainstream audience. It would only attract people who already have or show an interest in boxing. We should want this to reach an audience on a much larger scale than normal. I understand the roadblocks for doing a Superbowl Commercial, but something different needs to be done in terms of advertisement. We want the world to feel the event.

This just shows that Manny is embarrassed! He knows that he's dealing with some shady guys, and he wants no excuses as to why these negotiations fail. He now knows that IT IS NOT FLOYD, who is killing this fight, so he wants to be patient, and let the networks work it out. Be careful of Arum! A rat is most dangerous, when it is cornered!

That's the biggest issue in the contract right now, whether or not to use Twitter to make the announcement.

I hope it is, cuz that's not really a huge issue, lol.
