It appears to me, that he has kept fresh by not being in many wars. But by no stretch is he a spring chicken? I'm worried that if he doesn't land the prize fight(s) soon that he will be past it by the time he does.
Is Golovkin still a 'fresh' fighter for his age?

Certainly fresh and I'm sure in the prime of his career. I'd say he's a young 32.
Like you said hasn't been in any wars. There is no real mileage. Not saying he'll do anything like bhop, but remember Hopkins didn't get his first big fight until the age of 36, after defending his IBF title forever. Golovkin should get his big shot a lot sooner than that (hopefully by the end this year!). All in all GGG should be in his prime for a few more years and hopefully still good enough to be a pound 4 pound pounder when he does start to age, unlike Sergio Martinez. -

i also wonder about this for all boxers, especially for those guys that have like hundreds of fights in amateurs.
tim Bradley calls algieri a kid and hes 30. is 30 the new 20 for boxing now?Comment

How is 18KOs in a row over good opposition for fresh? He will KO an other top middleweight in a few weeks. Martin Murray who beat Martinez in Argentina and got robbed. GGG would be better off if he was 26 but at 32 he is still the best middleweight in the world by far and trying hard to prove it to all doubters.Comment

No. The aging of humans hasn't changed. 20 is still 20 and 30 is still 30 and so on. Good nutrition and training help some but fighters in general are a bit past prime at 30 and go slowly down hill each year after that even if they take care of their health and train hard. If they don't take care of their bodies they will go down hill faster of course.Comment
