Whether true or false, he could have said he would make more money against bigger names, or wanted to move up in weight, or any number of things. Fighters don't fight other fighters just because they think someone would call them a duck.
He could have watched tapes and thought to himself that Rigo is too risky and decided not to take the fight. So again, no he did not have to take the fight, no one was forcing him to.
He could have gone any number of directions and made any number of excuses so no he did not have to take the fight.
He took the fight walters fight too even though he did not have to. Any true Rigo fan should appreciate that fact and that Donaire gave HIM the opportunity to make the most he has ever made for any fight in his entire life. He did not have to take the fight.Last edited by richardt; 01-30-2015, 08:36 PM.Comment

Why on earth would a ex-P4P and multiweight champion have any interest in fighting for a worthless minor domestic title? Is this a joke?Comment

He did NOT have to take the fight! Dude, almost every fighter gets called a duck now so boxers could care less if they get called a duck since it is fashionable in the age of the internet.

Damn... If he picks Rey Vargas he might derail that prospect from the solid future he's building
I'm glad Nonito is back and will be fighting in the PI once again. Although many folks dislike him they can't take away from the fact that his resume is amongst the best in the sport right now. He fought everyone, he did his best and although he came up short against elite talents twice thus far, he always pushed himself towards a challenge. He may not have been the unstoppable monster everyone believed he was at one point, but he had a great run at top and an extremely solid career.Comment

Speaking of "Air", obviously it is the dominant matter between your ears because the point flew right over your head and didn't grasp the point I was making and chose to make remarks about me. A) I never said people would not consider it a duck if Donaire did not fight him so your reading comprehension failed miserably. B) The point I was making (read slow) is Donaire did NOT have to fight Rigo, he chose to. Not arguable, not up for debate. C) Donaire has done plenty wrong because I have leveled several complaints about Donaire, a number of them having to do with how he handled the rigo fight buildup, how people absurdly claimed he would stop Rigo just because Merroquin stunned him, all the way to how he abandoned some of his friends when he made it to the top. You just made assumptions by conveniently ignoring a number of things I have said that are not positive about Donaire. D) That means you have either a bad memory, air between your ears, or you conveniently ignored my negative complaints about him, in spite of the fact that you have been on this site for years. Cong**** on flaunting your ignorance! Good one! Next time you address my comments, make sure you know what the *** you are talking about because it is obvious you don't. You are dismissed. Go.Last edited by richardt; 01-31-2015, 12:33 AM.Comment
