  • Comments Thread For: Lucian Bute Expects Career To Rise With Al Haymon

Canadian superstar Lucian Bute (31-2, 24KOs) shocked a lot of people two weeks ago when he signed a long-term agreement with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

The former champion has been out of the ring since losing a twelve round decision to Jean Pascal in January 2014. He was expected to return last December, but withdrew after suffering an injury during training camp.

    You're a joke!

You're a joke LB. AL Haymon cannot make you a "real" fighter. Smh.

True, but if Bute stays at LHW Haymon could very well deliver him a title shot against Jürgen Brähmer

LB is past his best already. And even in his prime he wasn't close to an elite level fighter. Just a good solid hard working fighter. He probably feels he has one or two big fights left in him so I wish him well.

          Haymon

Haymon will get Bute a last payday. His career is going in a direction but he's the only one who doesn't realize it's down not up. He's done there will be no rising. Guys know you have to rough him up manhandle him get to that soft chin.

I don't think Bute is done. I think he still have fuel in the tank. He just need a convincing win and then his confidence (that he lost since his fight against Froch) will be back. I hope he'll be able to have a couple of good fight before he retires. He's a real gentlemen and a real role model. Always been humble and very polite.

I guess fighters still don't know when they're getting signed on to lose.
Seriously.... what can Bute do to raise his career?
I don't even think he beats Braehmer with how afraid he is of getting hit now

Who is he going to beat at LHW to give his career a "rise"?

One plausible outcome would be if he beats Brahmer for his Regular title.

Haymon made Salka famous, so I can't disagree with Bute.
