Pac-Mayweather will hinge on how long it takes Floyd to make his trademark adjustments, if he's able to at all...

Pac takes the early rounds...he may even do so in dominating fashion...It's been awhile since Floyd's faced anyone approaching his equal athletically...The same could be said of Pac but I think his aggressive style coupled with Mayweather's natural defensive, counter punching nature means Pac will probably set the tone & pace of the fight from the opening bell. ..

If past fights are any indication Mayweather will make the necessary adjustments and eventually turn the tide & tenor of the bout in his favor...The question is will Floyd adjust soon enough to win a decision or will Manny's early advantage earn him a close SD victory...

The first part was supposed to be a joke about the arbitrary odds people throw up about this fight. That's why I started the next sentence with the word "Seriously."

But I see it went over your head. My bad.

Then I watched #MayweatherMaidana1 and saw Floyd with a different and better defensive stance. But that lasted 2 or 3 rounds.

Bottom line, I can see Floyd winning the first round, but Pacquiao feeling comfortable with his movements. Like Robert Garcia said, It's not easy to prepare against Manny. He's awkward and most of the time you don't know what to expect from him.

If the fight happens, Pacquiao is going to steal many rounds and win a SD.
Manny doesn't apply pressure like either Maidana or Hatton. The key to his success is his in and out movement and quick flurries. We know his power isn't quite there any more so I don't expect it show up in this fight. I also don't believe he's awkward. Yes he uses unconventional angles but he also has to be fairly close and most of his opponents oblige to fight him close. I doubt Mayweather will be in his punching range for long and when he slides in and out I can expect him to get countered or a stiff jab to the stomach to slow his momentum.

The two guys you listed are conventional fighters who apply pressure by muscling a guy around with their bodies and fighting dirty. Pacquiao is not a physical guy like that. He fights mid range and fights in an ambush style.

Although I definitely see Manny causing problems for Floyd I can't see him doing it all 12 rounds. Pacquiao is a guy who goes out there an executes a game plan. When the puzzle is easy to solve he'll destroy you. Mayweather is like a rubix cube, an evolving puzzle. His style can change from round to round and I don't see Pacquiao being able to deal with that. Marquez proved you can give Pac MASSIVE headaches with even the slightest adjustments.
And do you really think Floyd will do what Marquez did? Will he be willing to eat 3-4 shots to land one? Will he exchange like a mad man in there in the hope of hurting Manny? I don't think so..I don't think Floyd can win this fight throwing one or 2 shots at a time when Manny will be firing off combinations...
Maidiana was able to land shots in the middle of the ring for Christ sake...Floyd's reflexes aren't what they used to be and Manny still has the speed and southpaw style to get though that defense..
I think Floyd wins a very close decision but wouldn't be surprised if Manny stole enough rounds to win..
