Comments Thread For: DeGale-Dirrell Possible For April 25th, Says Hearn

According to promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (20-1, 14 KOs) is potentially going to fight for the vacant IBF super middleweight title, against Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16 KOs), on April 25th from the O2 Arena in London.

DeGale is the mandatory challenger to current IBF champion Carl Froch. Hearn, who promotes both fighters, does not expect Froch to face DeGale.

Kind of annoyed at the vacant title part, I do believe Degale would have been catching Froch at the right time and would've dropped him at least once if not stopped. Anyhow, given the issues Degale has had such as groin injury etc I'm ecstatic that he would be getting a World title fight regardless against whom.

Great fight! I would be very interested in watching Degale vs Dirrell.

If the fight is in England I hope Dirrell gets a fair shake this time. Excellent matchup, though.

Dirrell should win this fight I believe.

Yeah I'm surprised Dirrell would go over there again. I'm sure Uncle Al would get assurances from his buddy Eddie Hearn that neutral judging would occur.

I heard it will be a double header. Dirrell brothers vs DeGale and George Groves.
