Alvarado spent 17 days in jail on a weapons violation, shortly before his 3rd fight with Rios. He's clearly unfocused, immature and wreckless. Sadly, it's hard to put an attempt at cheating past him.

He wasn't suspended because this was discovered the day before the fight and Garcia claimed ignorance. If this was discovered as Maidana was putting his gloves on to enter the ring on fight night, Garcia would have been suspended for at least one year.

To be fair they are a s**tty looking pair of gloves. Everlast should have been ashamed of them. The were wrinklier than an old nut sack, the leather should be taut over the padding. If i ordered them i would havd sent them back for a refund.

Do i think Garcia took the stuffing out of them? No i dont, but i do think he was smart enough to pick a s**tty pair of gloves when they were offered to him.

the leather on a puncher's glove is softer, and it is packed looser. horsehair shifts around. foam doesn't.


maidana wasn't allowed to use any of the everlast MX gloves, and was instead made [probably "paid"] to use a completely different model of everlast, with foam, hard leather, and tight padding.
