The biggest loser would be Cotto. The only sane reason for not making the Canelo fight was a rematch with Floyd. Now he gets neither. Canelo made a power play, didn't work but starting next year Cinco De Mayo is his for the next decade if he keeps winning and making good fights.
You could argue that he forced Floyd to make the Pac fight to keep his date. Canelo/Kirkland at the Alamodome on May. 7 after a replay of Pac/Floyd. That's if a Pac/Floyd actually happens, people are making a lot of assumptions and getting their hopes up, hopefully it works out this time.

The first fight wasn't on PPV. The last fight Cotto had on PPV was Martinez, before that it was Mayweather (in the US.) Cotto really doesn't put BS PPV's up, nice try though.

These Canelo fans are delusional man. Kirkland KO'd a NOBODY what 2 years ago? Before that he got KO'd by the Asian guy or beat another bum in Angulo. What he's earned to get anything is beyond me... it's one thing to find boxing boring but there's skill and actually athletic ability to what guys like Lara and Rigo do. Kirkland is a mean guy who throws punches with no chin. He's Mike Tyson in his prime if you ask a Canelo fan.

It was a BS power-play by ODLH\Canelo to try and snatch up the May 2nd date with a fight against a living body. But then they got their first WAKE-UP call, when the MGM wouldn't host it and the second WAKE-UP call is going to come from HBO, when they're forced to move to another date. It ain't got nothing to do with "Out of respect for the fans" BS spewed by ODLH -- HBO is more than likely telling GBP that if the Floyd\Pac fight gets made, they will move to another date ... Period!

It was a dumb move that was made much too early .... If they had waited a year, there wouldn't have been a conflict with anyone. But, noooo egos in play, and we're going to claim Mexican holidays in the United States and try to bump Floyd of all people.
