Wouldn't expect so a good topic to be ignored
I guess because it kills the theory that the past greats fought everyone and didn't duck anybodyLast edited by therealpugilist; 01-29-2015, 10:05 AM.

Didn't Steward more or less have the Duran fight on the agenda before they split? Don't know how true it is but I remember an interview where Steward was making that claim.
Great breakdown of his performance against Watson here for those that are interested

not sure if anybody posted this yet. manny steward evidenly had some gems in his collection. not sure if this is from that collection.
many of today's fighters don't get snap on their punches like that in their pro fights. these are two all time fighters.

But none of the fab 4 were all too keen on facing him...or Julian Jackson, Sambu Kalambay & Michael Nunn for that matter...all would've made much better & viable opponents than alot of the stiffs that the fab 4 were facing during the mid-to-late 80's.
Nunn was legitimately avoided by Leonard and Hearns. Tommy turned down either $1.5 million or $2 million (depending on who's story you believe) to fight Nunn.

Nunn would have handled the pair of them at that point.

He's got some bitterness but after I saw him and Hearns's sparring footage I really wish I could've seen them fight. That would've been a dream match for technical boxing.
