He talked a whole bunch of game about how he was gonna knock Bundu out in 4. Then he fought very cautiously which was unlike his previous crowd pleasing style. People before thought he was always relentless hence the nickname "one time" but he proved that he isnt always that knockout artist type

I thought he looked OKish....but when you get all amped up at the weigh-in about "KOs 4 Life" and how you're going to destroy Floyd Mayweather, then you should probably perform a little better against a 40 year old journeyman.

I think that's why people were a little underwhelmed.

LOL he was never relentless though. He's always been a boxer 1st.

Yeah maybe when they were pushing him2 years ago he'd blast guys out and brawl. But even I the Chaves fight, he fought the same way. When he's in there with a live dog, he's a boxer who can crack. He's always been. He's always moved quite a bit.

Funny thing is if he had got the KO, even late in the fight, no one would be saying ****.

Ruben Guerrero is a boxer. He calls Thurman "Run Time." Ruben is no casual fan.

That's fair, I agree the performance was a little underwhelming but Bundu who was undefeated in his own right, did not come to get KOd. I def think Thurman under estimated him.

to be fair that how all runners do too, they stop and plant and throw something to change direction or just to keep the guy from attacking.

Bundu was tougher than expected. It happens to every fighter. They have that fight that makes them look like **** against a lesser fighter early/mid in their career and makes fans think twice about him being a top fighter. Then they KO some other top fighter and they are back on the bandwagon.

Yeah Thurman always used his feet alot...its not like seeing Rios go in there and fight on the outside....Thurman is Boxer/Puncher...and his feet is why alot of people like him anyway....he doesnt just go in trying to walk down guys with his power he is a more complete fighter....But I get that he kinda brought it on himself with the KO 4 life thing

Great contribution. I agree, Bundu turned out to be tougher than Thurman expected imo.

And for the record, I do think he had to alter his game plan a bit. I think Bundu awkward rush and power bothered Keith more than he anticipated.

But I hardly think he was running, as I've seen him fight exactly like that before (see the Chaves fight) and no one said anything then. I think because eventually in that fight he got the KO.
