Comments Thread For: De La Hoya, Espinoza Aim To Continue Khan Relationship

Last year, British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) declared that he was a complete free agent with no contractual ties to Golden Boy Promotions or Showtime. Khan stated that his contract with Golden Boy, and Showtime, ran side by side and both had expired with last December's decision win over Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Dela hoya said that in the chain of command, he has to go to Bob arum BEFORE al haymon? Damn,he'd better get ready for a "you ain't getting the khan fight doe" response, from the haymon side.

Isn't it Al Haymon's job is to advice his fighters? So if Khan say he wants Manny, besides saying NO what else Al could do? It's not like he's a Promoter like Oscar and Bob.

Do people seriously think Khan has the same BS contract with Haymon like the other Haymon fighters..

When is comes to business Khan and his family are smart people they dropped all their managers (Asif Wali) promoters (Frank Warren) and Networks like a bad habit.

Same goes with Haymon and co.

Khan will go in knowing he has an advantage in the negotiating. Not that he will get 50/50 or anything but he is a bigger name than Pac has been fighting and Pacs numbers have been bad with those fighters. Khan will bring that number up and everyone knows it. I dont see it happening because of that. Khan will demand more

Strong possibility that Khan outprices himself.

It is good if he is not obligated to any particular promoter. He will have a lot of options and won't be tied up on the usual boxing politics
