What amazes me is that Anne Wolfe herself hasn't beat his azz for the way he treated both her & Pops Billingsly before now. She is capable of it.

It's a hard thing to humble yourself, and admit that you don't have the discipline to do what's necessary to be successful, without the help of someone like Ann. I've seen a lot of guys in the military, who hated "being told" to get up @ 0500 and exercise. They always said they could condition themselves. As soon as they got out, they ballooned to 250+ and became a shell of their former selves. Later they wished they never got out. Kirkland needs Ann, because she's the only one who has brought out the best in him, or at least, he has yet to prove otherwise.
