Well being forever an optimist, I suppose we will just have to wait and see huh?

The human empathy of some boxing fans is amazing.

Helenius's shoulder injury was so bad that muscle from his thigh had to be implanted in his shoulder.

And you think he's gonna be like he was before in month or two?

This is why you should never continue fighting with a shoulder injury, as Vitali knew -- because it can finish your boxing career for good.

Let's just hope Bob is healed up and ready to go after some good time off.

Some of you are just mean, nasty little b@stards.

His career has gone downhill since the Chisora fight.

That's because they're fight fans not boxing fans! Real fans would wish him a speedy and full recovery, it's good for the division. I'd love to see a healthy Helenius against the good big guys. Him against Price is a good comeback fight, but if healthy he has to step up.
          Good Luck!

A healthy Bob Helenius is a top contender and potential threat to Wlad. He's got size, skillz, experience, power and killer instinct- what's not to like?

              Doh.

Since that's when he injured his shoulder, that would make sense, huh?

Might be. His last fights definitely werent that impressive. But he did have trouble with his hand/shoulder. This layoff could have been good to his health and motivation.

Not irrelevant at all, atleast not in europe. This guys surely brings more to the division, atleast if healthy. If he fights ustinov and wins he is back in the mix. He has all the tools to compete when he is healthy and motivated.

Helenius havent been beaten up in the ring anyways, body should be fine atleast on that account.

You should like this guy. he is a god fearing man and everything LOL

And LOL for "Bob" Helenius also!

It wasn't just the injuries, he was also being forced to fight out a contract he was trying to be released from. According to an interview with his dad, Helenius was PAYING to fight rather than being paid. The whole situation is quite weird. His career might be over, or he may have just been not even trying until he healed up and renegotiated.

I have no reason to dislike him and don't by any means but that doesn't change the fact that he's shot. Go watch the Sam Peter and Chisora fights and then watch his last two. He's shot and not just recovering from injury. His reflexes are done. Just the way I see it.

"Shot" People throw around that word way too *******ly. Helenius had ring rust in his last two fights. A fighter becomes "shot" after taking too many beatings in the ring and in the gym.

If he's in good shape and motivated; there's no reason why he can't get back in top form. He needs to go some rounds against some soft opponents
