Comments Thread For: Andre Berto is Open To Facing Victor Ortiz Next

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto (29-3, 22KOs) is getting prepared for a crossroads battle with Josesito Lopez (33-6, 19KOs) on March 13th from the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The fight will headline the first 'Premier Boxing Champions' card on Spike TV.

The fight with Lopez is viewed as an eliminator of sorts to face Victor Ortiz (30-5-2, 23KOs) in a fall rematch, likely to take place on Spike TV or NBC/NBC Sports.

Berto should fight Khan they've both lost three times although Berto has only been knocked out the once. They are both at sub top level and both fail the big test, Ortiz on the other hand should retire has he does in a lot of his outings ....comments ?!

Peterson was caught for using steroids in their fight, so no Khan didn't lose 3 times unless you condone steroid use in sports.

Secondly, why should Khan fight Berto as what is it he brings to the table? Even if you can make a case for it, they are both trained by Hunter.

Berto's career is a joke??? Berto is an Olympian, former WBC welterweight Champion w/5 defenses! - what am I missing, your assessment is what's wrong with these fair weather fans of the sport. Everyone cannot be undefeated and fight EVERYONE ! Boxers may be super heroes to some, but they are hard nosed human beings to me, Berto has had a hell of a career, he could have quit against Karass, the world saw the trouble he was having with his shoulder, but he did not complain, ****** it up and delivered a good fight - WTF else do you want???? More like this guy is a hater and only likes the popular fighters because as a fan you should enjoy the sport and support the sport not just a hand full of fighters while they are winning.

Hahah who did Berto win that WBC belt from again? Freddy Hernandez? Bwhahahahahahaha. No, not even on that level - Miguel Rodriguez? LOL WUT? Yeah - this guy... http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...0835&cat=boxer

Let's look at his "defenses": Little Stevie TWO POUND Forbes! Luis Collazo (actually, his best win...), Urango, Quintana, and Hernandez?!?

Hahah then he got THAT ASS WAXED by Ortiz! Hahah... ANd get this.. This is the best part - he accuses Ortiz of using steroids, and then TESTS POSITIVE HIMSELF FOR STEROIDS next fight! Hahahhaha.

THAT is precisely why Berto, and his entire career is a JOKE...

The guy didn't make US olympic team, so he fought for "Haiti" where I'm sure he had to undergo vigorous competition, and tryouts for that spot :/

Berto is a BUM, and a JOKE who has been SPLATTERED by every guy above "decent journeyman level" he has ever faced. LITERALLY!!!

Should definitely worry about Lopez first. This is an extremely dangerous fight for him. If he can knock Lopez out he can get a top 15 fight afterwards to be relevant again.

Not to mention if he loses he should be fighting Ortiz next because both should get one last good payday before they retire. Ortiz is not the next step after Lopez.
