Ali was an attacker. He never backed down, and never stopped trying to land punches.
Toney would dissect him and counterpunch him to death for a TKO. Ali was fast, but he was also predictable and had poor defense that he got away with because of speed and reflexes. Toney is not as fast as Ali was, but he's more accurate, a wizard at counterpunching and very sneaky. Ali would slow down from missing punches, and James stays the same rounds 1-12. By round 4 Ali would not be fast enough to lean back from Toneys punches and would get sliced and diced. In round 5 Toney would be landing at will and Ali would be rescued.
Lewis was just far too big a puncher. I know people will compare Lewis to the young Foreman...but Lewis is far quicker and hit just as hard. Lewis would catch Ali early and take him out when he was hurt instead of swinging imaginary frying pans at him with his eyes closed like Foreman did.
