Eventhough Alvarado is obviously past his prime, Rios was always better than Alvarado. He came out very sharp tonight, much more so than the 2nd fight. The 2nd fight was as good as Alvarado could do. Pretty obvious he wasn't going to have that in him again, and unlike most, I thought Rios looked fine against Chaves, who is a better fighter than Alvarado imo.

Real easy to look good against an average fighter who isn't prepared. This wasn't a different version of Rios, he was in there with a punching bag last night. Manny is a different animal.

This is the casual fans curse , they cant dissect what is going on all they see is a guy get bashed and think how good the basher must be they never think how bad the punching bag was , its like running an average Greyhound against a Labrador , he is going to look like a flying machine .

I had very little interest or expectations from this fight. Just a guy who lost every round to Pacquiao against a guy who lost bad to Marquez and Provodnikov and is washed up. What gets me is people who think Rios is now some kind of God and worthy of top level fights because he beat a broken down Alvarado after a win via DQ over Chaves. He's still the same guy who did absolute crap against Pacquiao and nothing more.
