Alvarado certainly fought like a man distracted out there. Those charges were probably weighing heavy on him because he looked nothing like the fighter in his last encounters with Rios..
And neither did Rios.
Rios looked like a hungry and determined man going out to prove that he still has what it takes to perform at a high level in the ring. Best shape I've seen him in coming into a fight. Not all sunken eyed and emaciated.
Shame it wasn't more competitive, but hope Mike can bounce back and looking forward to seeing Rios in his next fights.

Props to Rios, He came to fight and delivered , good to see him get the W
Alvarado clearly didn't want to be there from the start, Didn't engage in the first and It looked like he wanted out after the 2nd and was looking for excuses after the 3rd. His trainer wanted it more then him . He should have just got counted out in the 3rd
Was it a disgraceful performance yeah
Does he have a drug problem possibly
But who cares the rubber match needed to happen and the better man won.

Rios vs Mayweather on Cinco de Mayo. "I fought the very best Brandon Rios. I fought a Brandon Rios coming off a victory. I proved yet again that I'm better than Manny Pacquiao so I don't need to fight him."

Alvarado arrested and charged with weapons offense and few days later, at fight night, his performance was well below of expectations. Mike really looked distracted, unprepared, troubled and absent minded. On the other hand Rios seemed to be well prepared and ready and ended benefiting from Alvarado's troubles (although I think Brandon appeared to be landing more precisely than in his last 2-3 fights). Should Alvarado consider retirement after that poor performance? Probably yes considering all the difficulties he is getting in his life.
