Yeah shame on top rank for trying to give the fans the third fight in a trilogy which the first two were barnburner fight of the year candidates. Shame on them for giving them both huge paydays when they've looked shaky in their recent performances. How dare they give them another chance to get their careers back on track on a headline HBO card? Why don't you please enlighten the entire boxing world on whom they should have fought besides each other that the fans would want to see? You should be a matchmaker since you have exquisite tastes when it comes to matching fighters

funny how everyone said Rios was a shot punching bag when he fought Manny.

But now he looked great fighting Alverado. But really thats just how bad Manny makes a good fighter look.

Rios looked badass tonight.

Rios was shot... tonight was the product of a good trainer who made the right adjustments and hard work... I think if Alvarado gets amother trainer and dedicates himself he comes back and beats Rios... But that's a hard road to take for Alvarado... Anyways not saying manny wouldn't toy with Rios again... but we saw a whole different rios tonight... even his wife got moist watching him fight...

Alvarado is a disgrace! He came out of shape & looking for an excuse to quit & put an old one, the "i can't see" excuse & when his corner was begging him to continue he made sure it would get stoped when the Dr. showed him 2 fingers & he claimed to see 4.. He just went to get paid...

Your right, I bet he didn't even train for the fight and was just looking for the first excuse he could to quit. I mean how focused could he really be if he's riding around with guns while on parole? The last thing I was thinking about on parole was driving with a gun in my car pet alone a boxer headlining an HBO fight who is expected to perform at a world class level with his career hanging in the balance. He can fight his way back to the top though, its been done many times before and I hope he does I really like mike alvarado

kirkland struggles with alcohol abuse just as dangerous as coke..has the same gun possession..is a 2 time felon...where do they not compare..both been ko'd..
canelo has not business in this fight and the cotto excuse is not valid imo..b/c k9, andrade, and lara all have forms of titles and they're willing to fight him..he took the high road imo

Still doesn't compare. In your original post you related to them being prepared for the fight. Mike obviously looked like he did nothing for this fight, meanwhile Kirkland always comes prepared. Them being dumb outside the ring is comparable but when they step in the ring Kirkland obviously comes in ready to fight and do damage. Alvarado on the other hand looks like he just woke up five minutes before coming to the ring and had absolutely nothing to give inside of it. What a pathetic performance. I feel bad for the hometown people who came out to support him thinking he would at least show up.

Congratulations to Rios on his victory last night, he took this trilogy seriously and it showed, he was focused and in beast mode for those three rounds.

Alvarado quit last night on his Stool, he claimed to see 4 fingers instead of two, he wanted a way out and he got it.

Even his Mother and family left in humiliation for Alvarado quitting once again in his hometown. I don't ever want to see Alvarado in a HBO or Showtime again he belongs on ESPN Friday night fights. He will be the new Prescott of the network just being used as a stepping stone for the up in coming fighters.
