Of their 44 combined punches landed per round, 34 were power shots (77%). Alvarado fought more in control in rematch, throwing 72 punches per round after averaging 111 punches thrown in first fight. He offered the counter-punching Rios less opportunities in rematch by slowing his own output. Alvarado landed 22 punches per round in rematch and 25 per round in 1st fight. Rios went 23 of 77 in 1st and 20 of 69 in rematch.
