They are doing it to make easy money, but not the type of money they could make if they wanted to take on and beat harder opposition and I could give you a million examples. For starters just when Danny Garcia was on the verge of really becoming a big star, haymon put his career back in the dumps by having him face rod salka. Just when Stevenson had a great year and was going to potentially become a ppv star, haymon had him duck all the top light heavyweights and the fans responded because his last fight with fonfara only 250k people watched it. Keith Thurman has massiv potential but haymon has been putting him in mismatches thereby not allowing him to ever become a truly big name. Peter quillen vacated his title, which really messed his career up. Seriously name one haymon fighter that is even close to becoming a big ppv star? Its taken mayweather and pacquiao years of beating top opposition to get to the top. Bob arum offered Chavez Jr. 7 million for a ggg ppv fight and another 10 million his next fight if he won, 5 million if he lost. Chavez Jr wanted easy fights so he signed with haymon to fight fonfara for a million dollars. Another career in shambles. They want easy fights but will never be respected stars like Manny or cotto or canelo or Marquez or even mayweather who all were built into stars by top rank by facing the tough opposition. Leo want Cruz just publicly said he would need 3 million to face rigo lol openly admitting to not want anything to do with rigoComment

You sound ****** ....arum bum ass matches ...c'mon ...stop the bs ...Al will have best matched because he has best boxers ...the match he has put together for this year is better than what arum and delahoya put together ...f arum and Hoya ...he will take over ....message to arum stop screwing your boxers like PAC and oscar stop leaving your company to do drugs and trick off...dum assesBecause they have no intention of ever developing into ppv stars, they are content being in mismatches and possibly headlining ShowTime cards against weak opposition. Name one al haymon fighter who has developed into a ppv star? Not one. All the ppv stars of today with the lone exception of canelo got their by fighting for top rank and that includes mayweather, pacquiao, Marquez, cotto, and Chavez Jr. I.e. Every ppv fighter besides canelo who had to beg Oscar to give him the hard fights which got him on ppv. Haymon may protect his fighters from fighting tough fights, but alls that means is they will never develop into full fledge ppv attractionsComment

what are you talking about? all the best fighters go with top rank. Bradley re signed with top rank and got 2 million to fight chaves while all the haymon fighters combined on the showtime card the same night didn't even make 2 million. Theres a good reason why pacquiao marquez Bradley and cotto work with top rank. Mikey Garcia was on the verge of becoming a big star and then ducked gamboa and wanted a soft touch haymon type matchup and hbo wouldn't televise it so mikey got mad and sued top rank and look what happened, a basically unknown terance Crawford stepped up to the plate and beat gamboa and propelled himself to become a top star In the sport. Even mikey Garcia said recently hes happy with the way top rank has handled his career so far and wouldn't sign with anyone else. Top rank pays its fighters just as much if not more than the other promoters, the difference being Arum expects his fighters to fight the tough matchups and some fighters don't want to do that. You sound ****** ....arum bum ass matches ...c'mon ...stop the bs ...Al will have best matched because he has best boxers ...the match he has put together for this year is better than what arum and delahoya put together ...f arum and Hoya ...he will take over ....message to arum stop screwing your boxers like PAC and oscar stop leaving your company to do drugs and trick off...dum assesComment

But if Arum is so wonderful, why did Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Gamboa, Rigo, and Chavez Jr. (Maybe Mikey Garcia soon) all leave (or sue) Arum? If they were making great money, why would they want to leave? Here's a hint:They are doing it to make easy money, but not the type of money they could make if they wanted to take on and beat harder opposition and I could give you a million examples. Arum told boxing reporters that he offered Cotto $13 million for the Pacquiao rematch and estimated that with strong pay-per-view sales Cotto could earn another $2 million from his share of the profits.
Arum said that when Cotto turned it down, he and Pacquiao went with Marquez for Pacquiao's next fight, just one week after Cotto's.
Cotto vigorously disputed Arum's claim.
"The only offer Top Rank ever made us was the same money as in 2009," Cotto told ESPN.com. "[Arum] made the same offer he made in 2009, and we found it kind of funny. That was the reason we decided not to face Pacquiao. That, and they also wanted me to go down to 150 pounds and give him the same advantage that they gave Pacquiao in 2009, a catchweight."
Cotto said he was surprised to read that Arum said he offered him $13 million.
"Bob said he offered us $13 million, but he never came to us with that offer," Cotto said. "He always offered us the same guarantee he offered us in 2009, with the same benefits, and that's not fair. He offered the exact same amount of money. Of course it's a business, but all we want is fair business. You can say to Bob to tell me he made that offer to me to my face, and you will see his reaction.
"Miguel Cotto always agrees to fight the best. I've never said no to anybody, but you need to treat me fairly in business."

Matchmaker under investigation for bribing boxers
ESPN.com news services
As controversy swirls around an FBI and New York Police Department investigation into the business practices of boxing promoter Bob Arum and his Top Rank company, Arum has reportedly fired one of the organization's matchmakers.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Sean Gibbons, one of the Top Rank employees being investigated by the ongoing boxing probe, was fired Monday.
Gibbons, who worked under primary matchmaker Bruce Trampler, allegedly asked two heavyweights to deliberately lose fights, according to a 1999 Miami Herald story. Gibbons has rebutted that charge, the Times reported Tuesday.
Andre Smiley told the Herald that Gibbons offered him bonuses to take falls in matches, and Mike Smith told the Oklahoma Department of Labor that Gibbons often asked him to throw fights.
According to the Times, Gibbons has said those accusations were "a complete lie."
Last week, Arum's Las Vegas office was raided by FBI agents, who seized computers, medical records, fight tapes, contracts and other financial documents. Top Rank employees are working under the assumption their offices are bugged.
Officials are investigating allegations that Top Rank employees or individuals associated with the company may have fixed fights, tampered with weight scales and forged medical documents.
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News reported on Monday that at least a dozen Las Vegas fighters and promoters may be indicted in connection with a separate investigation.
The paper reports that charges could be levied as early as May following the 20-month probe, known as Operation Match Book, which uncovered instances in which fights allegedly were fixed, medical records forged and officials bribed.
