What's YOUR drink of choice on Fight Night?!

Oh yeah man, I love Imperial IPAs, IPAs, and west coast pale ales. They put in some extra barley to balance out the high alcohol content, that's what results in the high IBU rating. The hops keep it in the semi-sweet, citrusy zone and the barley leaves it with a slightly bitter finish but it is really good.Welll there ya go... you do learn something new every day. I like IPAs myself but always just kinda assumed they were more of a UK thing - though of course the stuffs designed to travel so woulda made it to the Americas just as much as the Indian subcontinent after which it's named.
And hell - is that **** 8% ABV? - most of the IPAs we get here max out at around 6.5% - that's getting almost into Barley Wine/ Special Brew territory like the trappist beers I mentioned above. Nice - I may need to investigate further.
I had one last night from this company.....Green Flash. It was an Imperial IPA with an ABV of 9%. That thing was like liquid crack....smooth as hell but you could smell it across the room.
I'm from ******ia and we have a bunch of up-start breweries around now because the state just passed a law to make it much cheaper for micro-breweries to get setup. None of these beers I've mentioned are from VA, both are from California and only sold in 22 oz. bottles. The Green Flash one had me buzzing nicely after just one. Back to the ******ia breweries, there are a few that have some kick ass beer and most of the IPAs average around 6.5% to 7.5%.
I am not really into liquor because I don't do well on it (sometimes I get rather angry for some reason) but I love sampling new micro-brews.Last edited by mathed; 01-24-2015, 07:28 PM.Comment

[QUOTE=El-blanco;15316384]The best, shame they don't export it.
Regarding ron de barrilito
The are a very few distributors. I'm lucky and know one store in all of Northern California to stock it. They are online by the way and will ship to you. Look up
San Francisco wine trading company. If it's not on their site call them they are out of stock but will get it in a few days.
I visited and spoke with owner of ron de barrilito. He said they had a handful of distributors in Usa. If ur in New York, Chicago, San francisco and I think miami. You should find it if u look hard enough. Otherwise use my source.Last edited by Don Pichardo; 01-24-2015, 07:43 PM.Comment

Good taste.Depends what part of the world you're in and your own drinkin habits. My normal prefernce is Vodka - Absolut or Grey Goose ideally (though Green Mark and Russian Standard are good if you're on more of a budget) but I'm UK based and usually start drinking Saturdays by about 9 or 10pm which means come headline time (usually 'bout 4 or 5am) I'd either be asleep or staring at an empty bottle so I prefer beers these days (though tonight s'Rum'n'Coke (Captain Morgan) cos the local supermarket's shutting down and selling off stock cheap).
Beer always bottled - hate any **** outta a can. Warsteiner, Krombacher, Stella, Czech Budveiser, Amigo , Desperados - hardly specialist but easy to find for that very reason. If I'm gonna splash out it'll be trappist beers like Chimay or Duval though you probably want to stock up on your snacks for those cos they can kick - best with strong cheese, smoked meats and artisan bread for me.
We call Warsteiner Warstarter.Comment
