Comments Thread For: Gilberto Ramirez-Maxim Vlasov - BScene Staff Predictions

Gilberto Ramirez takes on his stiffest test to date, as the unbeaten super middleweight from Mexico collides with Russia’s Maxim Vlasov in a 10-round bout at 1STBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

The bout serves as the televised opener for the 2015 season premiere of Boxing After Dark on HBO. Headlining the show, friendly rivals Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios collide in their rubber match, looking to break the 1-1 tie.

If Ramirez wins then the WBC should forced Anthony Dirrell next since Groves doesn't want the fight.

If Vlasov wins then he should fight Andre Dirrell or Arthur Abraham next

Ramirez will win for certain, probably by decision.

Even if Vlasov deserves to win, the judges will give it to Ramirez.

A quick referee stoppage in favor of the Top Rank boxer Ramirez is another possibility, especially if Vlasov is doing well in the fight.

You know it's in Mile High, but Zurdo's the kid on the rise and Uncle Bob knows that left hand could really make him some gold. Vlasov is a credible opponent and I wouldn't be amazed by the upset but Maxim would pretty welll have to pitch a shutout (which is frankly improbable) to win on the cards in the circumstances. Or perhaps I'm just a cynical ol' bast@rd.

Zurdo is quite good from what I've seen. He should be able to dispatch Vlasov.
