I dont think this is true at all and actually think the opposite but does it really matter how its done

    • In 5-10 years the ESPN 30 for 30 about Floyd vs Manny is going to the best thing. Cause it sure as hell not going to be about the fight cause that ain't happening.

Maybe then will we possibly get some truths about both sides of this total fiasco

Every record? He might own the financial ones but nothing close to other records - some held by Pacquiao. More world titles in more divisions? Pacquiao. Unbeaten streak? Chavez Sr went something like 80 fights before being defeated. Defenses, length of title reigns etc, Floyd doesn't do those - he doesn't fight mandatories because it is beneath him to have somebody else elect his opponent.

People give Broner a ton of sh_it, but the kid was a 3 weight world champion at a younger age than Mayweather and jumped up 2 weight classes and went in with a strong, killer welterweight like Maidana - all by the age of 23. What was Floyd doing at that age? He never took those kind of risks, he was never up for that kind of challenge.

When Mayweather retires, he'll be remembered as one of the finest exponents of the sweet science the world has ever seen but his legacy will be overshadowed by the constant careful picking of opponents (click for breakdown) - especially in his later years but really throughout his entire career. It has been stage managed to maximize revenue and avoid defeat. If he fails to fight Pacquiao, that will be the nail in the coffin and it will haunt him wherever he goes. Of course, he'll be rich as hell, so maybe he won't care, but it'll be something he can never escape.

SMH. If Mayweather won't put forward a contract, then wtf else is Manny supposed to do? All he does is talk? No, Pacquiao fights and fights pretty much all comers. You can't say that about your boy Floyd.

        • Seriously, why does anyone care what this guy has to say about high level dealings? He's just a glorified personal trainer. If you want to find out about protein shakes or push ups, ask him. If you want to find out about fight negotiations, ask someone who is much higher up on the food chain.

Can't someone employed by this site get 5 minutes of Les Moonves or Richard Plepler's time to get some more pertinent information?

            • It appears that FMJ will go with Cotto in May leaving Pac and Khan to duke it out for the right to face the Little Hustler in Sept.
Smart for business, ****** for milking every last drop out of prize fight fans.

Isn't it amazing how these FLoyd fans are now taking Ariza's word as gospel? Amazing right? These guys have short term memories. It's like the days of 'Ariza shakes' and the nonstop 'PED' talks never happened. Amazing.
