Liam Messam in a boxing ring will be a familiar sight as he pushes for a place in the All Blacks Sevens for the Olympics.
The All Blacks flanker will make his pro boxing debut in next weekend's Fight For Life event in Sydney.

He says it keeps him off his aching limbs and allows him to get fit quicker.
Messam's opponent is still unknown.
