Comments Thread For: Froch: No Hopkins or GGG, I'll Wait For Chavez Jr.

IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch, and his promoter Eddie Hearn, are taking a pass on doing a fight with former two-division champion Bernard Hopkins. Instead, they are going to wait for a June fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June.

Chavez has finalized a fight with Andrzej Fonfara for April 18th. If he wins, he hopes to face Froch next. There were talks for a Chavez-Froch fight on March 28. The Nottingham fighter withdrew on Monday with an elbow injury.

Hopkins is a completely pointless fight as far as Froch is concerned.

GGG a great fight but not nearly big enough yet. At least the fight has legs unlike Hopkins.

Hopefully Chavez has his **** together by the summer.

Hopefully Chavez gets beaten badly enough that his stock becomes worthless so people can stop chasing him.

You've said this before, but why is it pointless?

What exactly is the point in it?

Hopkins is 50 years old and just got his arse kicked for 12 straight rounds. It's not even a big money fight and not on PPV.

Chavez is the worst guy to wait around for, he's going to see that Froch retires through inactivity.
