Added to Wlad's reluctance, he might even go 12. Not that it's a positive, since he has no chance of winning.

Good defence, great location. From the 2 fights I've seen of his (Szpilka and Perez), I don't think much of Jennings. However, he brings an X-factor to the fight in the form of that long-ass reach. He'll arrive in good shape too; I have no interest in this current crop of stocky, squat, pudgy-pudding HWs like Stiverne. What I want to see is athleticism with a good reach, so Jennings brings that to the table.

Also, think of it like this: Wladimir could've simply bought his way into a unification with Wilder, thus leaving Jennings out in the cold. Instead he kills 2 birds with one stone by 1. giving an undefeated prospect a shot at the titles, and 2. making the path clearer to an eventual unification with Wilder. Ideally, Wilder then defends against Fury in the summer and clears the path even more.

I think it's a really good fight. Wlad has in recent years began preparation for this new breed of super heavyweight now currently occupying the division, he faced Pianeta and Wach two guys both taller than himself as well as Thompson albeit not through choice but mandated, he is now accustomed to this larger fighter such as Price,Fury,Wilder and Jennings and the new breed of Joshu,Parker and Hughie.

The intentions of facing these newcomers has always been there,it has just taken time to come to fruition, I think most will agree these smaller guys pose no danger or threat to his reign whatsoever, which whilst it is a shame as their are some terrifically talented guys such as Povetkin,Ruiz,Haye etc
